Through a partnership between the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Community Association and The City of Calgary, two blocks of 26th Avenue SW along the Elbow River between 1st and 4th Streets have been transformed into a historically-themed promenade. A run-down section of pathway has become a handsome walkway that complements the fashionable, high-density development on the other side of the avenue. The result is a streetscape that marries the urban lifestyie of the avenue to the natural environment of the river. Through historical plaques and markers, the promenade also tells the story of the river and its relationship to the communities of Cliff Bungalow and Mission. See this video for more information.
